Listen to the latest episode of our weekly comic book podcast!

“Readers will experience not only a non-stop thrill ride starting in April, but also a launch story that’s as irreverent and hilarious as it is murderous,” Percy promises. “We’ve been teasing Deadpool for a while now, and he’s intimidating his way through the pages of Wolverine for a wild (and reluctant) team that looks like a cousin of Midnight Run and The Fugitive. Prepare for more Maverick mayhem, more CIA espionage, and more DANGER (yes, you read that right) around every turn. “

So what Wolverine # 20 by the way?

Deadpool was the King of Staten Island – now he wants to be an honorary citizen of Krakoa. Wolverine just wants him to shut up. But when Deadpool uncovers a dangerous plot that could spell the death of the Mutant Refuge, it will take a titanic team from the Best There Is and the Merc with a Mouth to quell the threat. But that doesn’t mean Logan has to like it. Featuring Wolverine and Deadpool at their wildest, plus a return of a fan favorite X character in the Krakoan era!

New York, NY— January 5, 2022 – Wolverine’s ongoing series returns in April with more thrills from the same all-star creative team, writer Benjamin Percy and artist Adam Kubert. Wolverine’s master storytelling duo delivered uninterrupted, action-packed adventures in what is shaping up to be one of Wolverine’s greatest races in recent history. Now, following on from X LIVES OF WOLVERINE / X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE, they’re back to take the character on some of his most brutal missions yet. And this time, Deadpool arrives for the ride!

“For ten weeks, the X LIVES OF WOLVERINE / X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE will take readers on an epic, time-consuming adventure that sets up the next era of mutant books: Destiny of X. How do you track something like this? You keep raising the bar. Readers will experience not only a non-stop thrill ride starting in April, but also a launch story that’s as irreverent and hilarious as it is murderous, ”Percy promises. “We’ve been teasing Deadpool for a while now, and he’s intimidating his way through the pages of Wolverine for a wild (and reluctant) team that looks like a cousin of Midnight Run and The Fugitive. “Every time a new character or story is introduced in WOLVERINE, it feels like a fresh start and an opportunity for Ben and I to reinvent the wheel,” Kubert said. “WOLVERINE # 20 is no exception with one exception. Deadpool is not a new character. Having drawn it before (most recently on the cover of DEADPOOL BLACK WHITE AND BLOOD # 1), I feel more like visiting an old friend. Things do change, yes, but our relationship remains the same. For me, DEADPOOL remains one of the greatest characters in MARVEL. Putting it alongside | / OLVERINE doesn’t get any better and I hope (and think) you will feel the same… Bub! ”

“I know it’s impossible to understand, but Adam Kubert has never been so good,” Percy said of his legendary collaborator. “Its stunning layouts – including a motorcycle action sequence for the ages – are second to none.

“Without giving away any spoilers, this is going to be an explosive and complicated year for the mutants,” added Percy. “You’ll soon learn how much the future of Krakoa (and the mutant genre) is in peril, and Wolverine will of course be in the center of it all, cutting and hacking.”
