Honda unveils Rugged Roads project vehicle


The redesigned new Passport 2022 features more aggressive sheet metal from the A-pillars forward, including a prominent protective trim and a new rear bumper with larger twin tailpipes. The new exterior design gives the Passport a more rugged look that better matches its current off-road capabilities.

In addition to new styling, the Passport 2022 is the first Honda to receive the TrailSport treatment which includes a unique grille, orange interior accents, 18-inch machined wheels and unique tires with sidewall tread for a look. more robust. Over the next model years and depending on the model, the off-road capability of the TrailSport models will increase. Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project

Built with an experienced overlander and Honda Passport enthusiast Jon Tuico, from the popular JonDZ Adventuring YouTube channel, the Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project vehicle will debut at the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona. of 24-26 Sep.

Using the new Passport TrailSport 2022 as a starting point, the Rugged Roads Project vehicle is equipped with additional off-road-focused components to further improve its landing ability. Ready to roll off the grid, the Rugged Roads Project vehicle includes Genuine Honda Accessories, a Jsport suspension lift kit for added ground clearance, and heavy-duty Firestone Destination A / T2 all-terrain tires for better off-road traction. route without sacrificing the excellent route of the Passport manners.

Custom designed and manufactured by Honda R&D, the recovery points are painted TrailSport Orange and the thick stainless steel skid plates to protect the SUV’s oil pan and fuel tank from rocks and other off-road hazards. A lower door brush trim protects its body panels.

Roof cross bars and a Dirt Complex hitch tire carrier add rugged functionality and expand cargo transportation. Fender flares, special 18-inch wheels and black Honda emblems make the Rugged Roads Project ready to tackle the toughest terrain. To make overnight excursions more comfortable, a Roofnest Sparrow XL rooftop tent has been added.
