Kar Kapades takes advantage of the Bikes for Kids effort
The very first Kar Kapades last Sunday drew participants from near and far.
According to the event’s organizer, Pete Paulsen, some have traveled to the sports complex in River Island, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and even Mississippi to “join the action”, he said. -he declares.
Hundreds of vehicles were on display.
“We had everything from Harleys to hot rods,” said Paulsen, longtime host of his Hot Rod Parties at his French Camp ranch.
Much like its recent events, Kar Kapades’ profits have benefited Bikes For Kids, a non-profit organization that provides renovation services to underprivileged children throughout the year.
The biggest distribution of these donated bikes will be on December 12 at the Paulsen Ranch at 1504 W. Bowman Rd.
So far, Pete Paulsen has donated over 100 bikes – Andrew Rodriguez of West Coast Custom recently delivered 44 bikes to the cause – and another 100 in his store are in need of repairs and TLC. Volunteers are needed to help refurbish different types of bikes. Call 209.983.0271 or connect to www.petepaulsen.com for more information.
Paulsen, meanwhile, called Kar Kapades a “huge success” thanks to those who took part.
The best of the show went to Victor Raffy Sperry’s 1955 Ford F-100 while Stan and Pauline McKlintock of Bullhead, Az took home the long distance trophy.
Special guests were Jon Provost of the classic TV show “Lassie” with his wife Laurie Jacobson, author and famous Hollywood researcher, Heather Storm of TV’s Garage Squad and custom car designer Jon D’Agostino.
“It was a great day at River Island – vehicles filled the River Island Parkway, waiting to be seated for this inaugural event,” added Paulsen.
