Knicks Go wins the G3 Lukas Classic on October 2

Knicks Go, the 5-year-old from Korea Racing Stable and possibly the morning line favorite for the $ 6million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic on November 6 in Del Mar, retained his top spot for the eleventh straight week in the NTRA Top Thoroughbred poll with 23 first place votes and 339 points.

St. George’s 5-year-old mare Letruska remained second in the poll with six first-place votes and 312 points. Trained by Fausto Gutierrez, Letruska is one of the main contenders for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Category 1 distaff, $ 2 million.

Godolphin’s 3-year-old colt Essential Quality, who like Knicks Go is coached by 2020 Eclipse award-winning trainer Brad Cox, remained in third place in this week’s poll with seven votes for the top spot and 299 points. The essential quality is also emphasized for the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Jackie’s Warrior of Kirk and Judy Robison, one of the top contenders in the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint Level 1, $ 2,000,000, earned a spot in fourth place in this week’s poll with 158 points . Roadrunner Racing, William Strauss, Boat Racing and Hot Rod Charlie of Gainesway Stable, another top Classic contender, dropped a spot to fifth in this week’s poll with 149 points.

Michael Lund Petersen’s Gamine, who is nominated for the $ 1 million Filly & Mare Sprint Breeders’ Cup, climbed from one spot to sixth in the poll with 129 points.
