Lancashire tankers prepare for the return of a popular motorcycle event with a majestic house as a backdrop
After being postponed to 2020, the speed hill motorcycle event returns, at full speed, for the sixth time on the vast grounds of Leighton Room, near Carnforth.
One of the most popular and competitive events on the off-road motorcycle calendar, the track follows 268m of hilly uphill track, including an exciting 60-degree turn just 50 yards from the start line, a difficult challenge for runners who accelerate. at 100 miles an hour.
Visitors can expect to enjoy a full day of action, including around 150 competitive sprints, as well as practice runs and races. The event is open to all bikes, and bikers can race any bike they own, as long as it has an MoT, which means fans can see weird and wonderful machines.

Marshals North West Secretary Michael Clear, who took over the event from retired Ian Sherrard, said: ‘I live right across the street in Yorkshire where there is simply no such thing. on the calendar.
