Man rushed to hospital after motorcycle crash near Edinburgh bypass
A man was rushed to hospital after two motorcycles collided near the Edinburgh bypass.
Cops rushed to the scene just off the A720 near the Hermiston Gait roundabout around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday August 11.
Two motorcycles, a blue BMW RT1200 and a black Harley Davidson, were at that time driving on the roundabout near the slip road towards the Calder Road junction.
It is understood that the BMW motorcycle left the road and ended up on the edge of the grass.
The 49-year-old runner was rushed to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary with a serious leg injury.
The police are still trying to establish what happened and have issued an appeal for information.
Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said, “We are trying to establish what happened to get this bike off the road and to clarify if other vehicles were involved.
“We would like to speak to anyone driving in the area at this time. We also invite anyone with on-board camera images that could assist us in our crash investigation to contact us.
