Monmouth County Fair to mark return in 2021 after pandemic is canceled






The Monmouth County Fair, which was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, returns in 2021 and will be held at the East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township.

The dates of the fair are July 21 to 25. Hours of operation are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday July 21, 22 and 23; from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday July 24; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, according to a press release from the Monmouth County Park System.

Again, festival goers will enjoy the entertainment, 4-H animal displays, opening night fireworks and more.

Highlights include acts such as Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt Show; Ready GO dog show; the thrill show of motorcycle madness; Bwana Jim Wildlife Show; Hilby, the skinny German juggler; Robinson’s racing pigs; horseback riding Jeff Wilson; Tara Jones Pieceful Solutions Riding and Training, and more, according to the press release.

The fair also offers live music, rides and games.

Main stage entertainment includes performances by the Big House Band on Wednesday evenings; Shore Thing on Thursday evening; After the Reign on Friday evening; Remember Jones and the Motor City Revue on Saturday night; and the last Whippoorwill on Sunday.

Kids’ favorite Yosi and The Superdads will perform on the main stage during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

The Home and Garden Contest of the show is also back. Categories include crafts, needlework, art, photography, vegetables, and flowers. A brochure and details are available online at

After the judgment, the entries will remain on display in the house and garden tent. The tent will also feature daily demonstrations from the Central Jersey Beekeepers Association, staff at Deep Cut Gardens and staff at the Thompson Park Creative Arts Center, according to the press release.

This year’s show will once again feature rides provided by Reithoffer Shows and offer a separate area for children. Merry-go-round bracelets will be available every day and allow festival-goers to enjoy unlimited rides during their visit.

Ride bracelets will be available for purchase online at the Reithoffer Shows ticket website ( for $ 25 each. Online sales will begin on June 30 (approximately) and end on July 20.

Bracelets will also be available for purchase at the fair for $ 25 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; and $ 30 on Friday and Saturday. One-way tickets will also be available daily. Rides are offered weather permitting, according to the press release.

General admission to the fair is $ 8 per adult; children 17 and under are admitted free. On Sundays, people aged 65 and over and active military personnel with a card are free. Discounted presale passes will be available through the Viply app from July 15.
