Twitter Users Reflect on a Lesser-Known Movie Quote They Use All the Time

I saw this Twitter prompt from writer Daniel Kibblesmith yesterday:

I immediately thought of three things.

First, because I find it applies to the shitty way my stupid brain works all the time: “I’m nostalgic for things that haven’t happened yet,” from Noah Baumbach’s debut feature, Kicking and screaming– a movie I love, which was first recommended to me by this same site a long time ago, and which also appeared in the Twitter feed in response to Kibblesmith’s prompt:

Second, because I’ve laughed at the delivery and placement since I first saw the movie about a year after it came out: David Cross’ character, “Carrie, I’m make a bird house!‘ from Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

And three, because it’s such a vital part of one of modern cinema’s greatest scenes, Guillermo Francella’s delivery of, “One Guy Can Change Everything.” His face, his house, his family, his girlfriend, his religion, his God. But there is one thing he cannot change. He cannot change his passion.

Here are some of the responses from Twitter, the lesser notoriety of which may be questionable, but it’s all relative:
