Wodonga police officers on patrol arrested a man who broke into a motorcycle dealership early Thursday morning. Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman said police received a call to a ‘hot burg’ at the Romet Road business just after 3.30am. “Police present, who were told there was a man in the store seen on one of the bikes and trying on a helmet, cordoned off and confined the building until they could enter and search the premises,” the police press officer said. “A thorough search of the building revealed that the man hiding in the corner did not want to surrender.” The 26-year-old man from Wodonga is currently assisting the police in their investigations. “He is expected to appear in court today to face possible charges of burglary, attempted theft, equipment to steal and criminal damage,” Sergeant Newman said.
